AlphaBio announces the opening of an office in Arbuckle, California. The three acre property is ideally located to support our Bay Area and Central Valley customers. Along with inventory of various items it will serve as the Northern California systems and fabrication center. Christopher Bullock will be coordinating efforts from this location.

Steven Cates has been promoted to Vice President of Engineering for AlphaBio. Steve has been employed at AlphaBio for several years, most recently as Manager of Process Systems. His new role adds supervision of AlphaBio's field services group to his charge.

AlphaBio, Inc. has just completed a new technology center in Oceanside, California. The center has hot purified water and steam systems making it very suitable for extended factory acceptance tests (FAT) and extensive product testing. It will also be utilized as a technology show room for AlphaBio's product lines and technical innovations.

AlphaBio, Inc. has just completed a stand alone, semi-automated and cGMP compliant Hollow-Fiber TFF system for one of our valued customers. It is designed for process development. The operational processes include, clarification, diafiltration, ultrafiltration and integrity testing. The system has an EFA of 360 sq. ft with automatic TMP control and is fully CIP and SIP capable.

At this years Interphex we showed our new ultrafiltration systems, the Alpha TFFTM and the MicroUFTM, and received a great response. The MicroUFTM is a scalable ultrafiltration system designed for process development and laboratory applications. All components in product contact pathways are disposable. This includes pressure transducers as well as additional inline instrumentation. Standard and custom systems are available. The system can be configured to fit any style UF module.

Steven Cates, M.Sc., has joined AlphaBio, Inc., as Manager of Process Systems. Steven holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences/electrical engineering from the Sonoma State University and a master's degree in biological sciences from Stanford University. Steven has previously worked as a systems engineering manager for Sartorius designing and fabricating custom engineered systems for the biopharmaceutical industry.
